Frequently Asked Questions


1. Will there be transportation from airports to conference site, if I arrive on July 21st?

No. We will not be able to provide transportation on July 21st. Transportation is provided from airports starting from July 22nd only. Please make sure your requests for transportation is sent along with registration form or by sending an email request to travel@mtcfc2008.org. 2. What are my options for pre/port conference accomodation?

Please visit the web page with information on Pre/Post Conference details.

3. Can I attend the conference for one day only ?

No. The Diocesan Famiily conference bylaws do not allow a delegate to attend only for one day. Please try to attend the conference in full.

4. What are the conference fees for the Families of Clergies(Achens) and families?

As per our Thirumeni's Kalpana, all Achens who attend the conference has to pay the full registration and Conference fee. Other family members of the Achens has to pay 50% of the Registration fee and Conference fee. Sightseeing fee is extra and need to be paid in full.

5. Is there a discounted rate for Santa Clara Marriot for pre/post conference ?

Yes. We have negotiated a discounted rate for conference participants from July 22nd to July 24th. Please call Santa Clara Marriott at (408) 988-1500 and provide our discount code mtcmtca or click here to reserve online.

6. Are there any nearby hotels to the conference site ?

Yes. There are several hotels in the Santa Clara, Sunnyvale and San Jose area. A taxi cab from these hotels to the conference site will cost approximately $25 only. You are not allowed to stay outside Santa Clara Marriott and attend the conference. These hotel options should be used only for pre/post conference accomodation. 7. Is there transportation from airport before the conference start date?

Yes. We will be providing transportation from San Jose, San Francisco and Oakland airports to the Conference Site, from July 22nd to July 24th. We will also provide transportation from Conference Site to Airports on July 27th

8. Will you provide transportation from airports to other hotels if we arrive few days before the conference ?

Transportation from airports on 22nd to 24th to hotels other than Santa Clara Marriott, will be considered upon request. Please send an email to travel@mtcfc2008.org to keep our transportation committee informed of such special needs. We'll try our best to accomodate your needs and provide you a confirmation.

9. Does the conference provide Nursery / Baby sitting service ?

Yes. This is one of the unique services of this conference. We will be running a Nursery for small kids. Please visit the Nursery page for more details.

10. Is it possible to go to Grand Canyon if we arrive on July 22nd ?

It is possible by flying to Las Vegas and then taking bus or rental car from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon. There is also a 4 day bus tour available from San Francisco to cover Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and Yosemite on Saturdays and Tuesdays. These are not arranged by Family Conference Committee. This is a 4 day tour and hence the only way to attend this tour is to arrive on Friday or Saturday of previous week. Visit the research page and search for other Bus Tours also.

11. If I do not get accomodation in Santa Clara Marriott for Pre/Post Conference stay, what is your recommended hotel ?

La Quinta Inn near airport and convention center has a rate of $79+tax. They also have 10% discount for AAA/Senior members.
